When we talk about content or blog marketing, very commonly we first think about keyword research for our blog. We start using various keyword research tools.

The reason being we all learn the right keywords always helps to rank our website or webpage in SERPs. It is the most important activity for Search Engine Optimization and building organic traffic to our website.

As per my experience, I would say this is not the fact. We shouldn’t do keyword research for our blog.

It doesn’t mean keyword research is dead. But, keyword research should not be our primary focus for any blog post. Simply because ranking on any particular keyword on the blog page is difficult. It depends on your domain authority and keyword SEO Difficulty.

Why is keyword research for blogging not important?

There are many reasons why we should avoid keyword research for the blog. There are many reasons for it. Every keyword or keyphrase is too competitive, and it takes hours to find non-competitive keywords.

In many cases, it happens, the non-competitive keywords are not relevant as per your target audience or as per your user persona. Again it depends on the SEO difficulty of that particular keyword.

For Example, I searched for Video Marketing to get relevant suggestions to get related topics I want to rank.

Google Keyword Planner and UberSuggest Keyword Ideas, there is no relevant keywords or keyphrase for me. Even long-tail keywords that are low search volume and might difficult to rank.

The ultimate think to rank and drive traffic to your blog is to produce the best content and context on our blog topic.

The blog context is more powerful and effective than keywords.

Blog Context > Keywords

Instead, we should focus on fresh, quality, and relevant content as per our industry. We should share our own experience or own research or personal product or services inside pieces of information or knowledge.

While Google scrolls your page, it understands your topic and ranks your blog post based on the relevancy of your content, not based on your target keyword. Similarly, Google algorithms work based on search intent. So you should research and understand the searcher intent, needs, desire, or problem according to your industry, product, or service. Then it will create lots of opportunities to get the right audience and traffic volume to your blog page.

Take another example of searcher intent and compare the content that comes in the search result for PPC and SEO.

I searched for Best Visitor Management. You can see below screen shorts come in PPC advertising and organic search results SEO.

If you compare the content you will find a lack of searcher intent in that paid advertisement. Visitor Management for Society could be the best keyword here.

Ideally, when someone searches for best visitor management, it means searcher intent is to compare the things not to buy it. Visitor Management for Society could be the best keyword here.

Whereas the content comes in the organic search result, it the exact intent search result. All list of organic searches is listed out a list of best visitor management.

Therefore, it is essential to understand the intent of the search and context, not keyword research for your blog.

Keyword research takes up hours for every single topic or webpage or category page; There are many free tools, features available on Google. You are finding the right blog topics with the right volume in your target niche again, a difficult task.

Don’t worry, Let Google do the work for you. Google will find the intent topic for your blog. You need to understand the following know-how on Google that will give some context to your content.

3. People Also Ask Option in Google Search Result Page

The “People also ask” box is a type of question and answer listing on Google search results. Based on the searcher’s intent, Google universal Google SERP displayed with questions answered.
